The End.

Adding another full stop or two to the word End means there is a continuation. This article of mine is to advocate that there is a continuity after the End popularly attributed to Mayan civilization.
Recently I got to read a nicely written article on dooms day and justification on why 21 December 2012 could well be the end. The article in Tamil was well versed with lot of research into the topic giving detailed account of what all does it take to make Mayan prediction likely to become true.
The article ended with relating Mayan to Tamil civilization which is much older than Mayan or Sumerian civilization. Taking cue from there, I thought why not search for an answer in Tamil literature which in my all means and accepted to be a much older language and civilization.
The word Mayan had been derived by that civilization from Tamil. That is what the article I read linked to. Taking that into account, I quickly checked to see the Tamil Calendar which basically is from Hindu Calendar. According to this calendar, the year 2012 would be Kaliyuga 5114 and the year name starting April would be Shalivahana. That means, we have already passed over 3100 years from the dooms day of 2012.
Why I chose to relate dooms day 2012 to the calendar of ancient civilization is that they are as old as or much older than that of Mayans. Even if you look at the Islamic Calendar or Chinese Calendar we are older than 2012. According to Chinese Calendar we are in year 4709.
If you ponder more into this, you will find that Hindu calendar and Chinese calendar follow a 60 year cycle. Each year is given a name and that name is repeated after 60 years. This 60 years goes with the Jupiter cycle. Every 12 years on earth is 1 year is Jupiter. The Hindus and Chinese have used this Jupiter cycle to mark the name for each year.
If you look at the Mayan calendar, it is said that the final wheel is completing 5 rounds on 21 December 2012 and that is the end. I shall like to interpret the wheels of Mayans as Earth, Mars and Jupiter. The bigger wheel is Jupiter and Jupiter is completing it's 5year cycle.
If 2012 was to be a dooms day then there could be traces of mentions in other ancient civilization including Egyptian. But there seems to be none.
Our own calendar is flawed. How would we account for the days that were missed out when the calendars were changed? We had different calendars. Earlier calendars had only 10 months. We had Julian Calendar and then now we use Gregorian Calendar which was drafted only in 1582. The Chinese, Indian, Babylonian and other ancient calendars were created much earlier than today's calendar and these are precise.
In simple terms, even if we take 2012 December 21 to be the last day for earth, then for which time zone. Would first Australia New Zealand be destroyed as they would be on a day earlier than West?!
Our ancestors were well advanced than us in many forms. They were experts in Astro Physics than what we are. That is why they were able to find the birth of Christ through the sighting of tail Star in the sky and went out to search for him from East. Now look again here. The wise men went from East. East includes ancient civilization of India and China. Not the west coast where Mayan lived.
Even if we are to ignore the calendars, according to religious beliefs, there are a lot to happen before the world ends. The bible says No Man knows the Time or Hour when the end will happen. It could be 21 December 2012, It could be not.
